Our Managing Partner Katie McCann has appeared in the Chester Herald with her pre budget thoughts.

Katie said this: “If the prospect of Halloween on Thursday wasn’t scary enough for some, then the fallout after Rt Hon Rachel Reeves takes to the dispatch box tomorrow lunchtime might be.”

The Chester Standard has featured some of my pre budget comment today. As a business owner and entrepreneur its a topic i feel quite passionate about.

If the budget delivers something that lands in the middle ground, I would hazard a guess that most would accept our current reality and just get on with it… but if Keir Starmer and Rt Hon Rachel Reeves decide to grab their proverbial sledgehammers, they could get a backlash they were not expecting from the business community.

After nearly 15 years of Tory governance has left a significant void that demands attention, we must ensure that efforts to rectify this do not compromise economic growth.

Spooking business owners will inevitably lead to job losses and increase the number of unemployed in this country… is that really what’s best for the recovery of the economy?

Lets hope any measures that are taken are sensible and proportionate so that we can all get on with building the future.

I will be eagerly watching…will you?”
