Katie McCannManaging Partner
Katie prides herself on seeing the bigger picture for her clients. She understands that relationship breakdown is not just one distinct point in time. She believes in providing creative solutions for those she acts for, whether that be calling in an accountant, a wealth manager, a tax adviser or other professional. Getting the right answer is top of the agenda.

As a barrister, she has the wealth of experience and knowledge to take a client from initial instructions in the office through to appearance at a final contested hearing if necessary. She is pragmatic and sensible in her approach and actively seeks settlements for her clients, but is a force to be reckoned with if needs be in court.

Katie is the Managing Partner and Founder of Lowry Legal. She created the brand to provide freedom of choice and flexibility for clients in how they access legal services in this post pandemic era.

Katie is regularly instructed by entrepreneurs, business owners, people in the public eye and professionals in the public and private sectors. Her expertise is spread across all aspects of family law but in particular she is focused on achieving financial settlements for her clients on separation and divorce. She also advises on protection of wealth through pre and post nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Michael has nearly 20 years’ experience advising high-net-worth and high-profile clients on a diverse range of family law matters. He works with each individual client to find solutions tailored to their unique financial and emotional needs.

Michael’s knowledge of family law is comprehensive, and he has dealt with the full spectrum of the complex issues that arise in family law. Clients highly value his combination of legal insight and emotional intelligence.

He rapidly and effectively distils the facts to provide direct, practical advice for clients. His practice is centred around balance and pragmatism, and he weighs up the pros and cons of each situation.

Lesley is a proactive and determined family solicitor with 25 years of experience in non-contentious and contentious family law, with specialist expertise in divorce matters, separation agreements, and financial settlements.

Lesley advises on high-value money cases for clients across Manchester and surrounding areas, Cheshire, Liverpool and North Wales., having worked in top rated practices across the North West and Yorkshire.

She is respected for her candid, supportive, and personable approach to clients, attributes which are essential in providing high-quality family law services. Lesley supports families and children through difficult divorces and relationship breakdowns, investing personal care into every matter she handles.

Michelle is an accomplished matrimonial solicitor, mediator, and collaborative lawyer with extensive expertise in divorce law, romantic contracts; pre nups, relocation/ child arrangements, and post-separation finances.

Michelle has almost 25 years’ experience assisting separating couples with a particular history of handling cases where high-net-worth assets and cross-jurisdictional concerns are involved.

As a collaborative lawyer and accredited mediator, Michelle’s modus operandi is to use alternative methods of dispute resolution and to look at a family more holistically to avoid court proceedings and achieve a fair and equitable settlement for both parties. As a litigator she is just as tenacious in the court room as she is around the negotiating table.

Michelle is a Partner at Lowry Legal and advises across the whole spectrum of divorce and relationship breakdown, including on financial assets, emergency applications and enforcement orders, spousal maintenance, and re-opening historic settlements. Her cases often have complex, international dimensions, including trusts and off shore assets. Michelle also advises on negotiating pre- and post-nupital agreements, using collaborative methods to do so.

Abi Woodcock
Abi WoodcockSolicitor | Northwest
Abi is a newly-qualified Solicitor with over 3 years’ experience working as a paralegal and then as a trainee solicitor in family law.

Abi has been closely involved in all aspects of family law but has a particular interest and experience in high-net-worth financial settlements on divorce and separation. She runs and assists fee earners on cases, taking on a client-facing role, to achieve the desirable outcome for the client. Abi has experience in working with clients who have obtained financial orders by consent and assisting clients from the beginning to the end of their financial remedy proceedings. She also has experience in representing clients in private Children Act proceedings, preparing clients for hearings both in person and remote.

Abi also has experience in achieving the desired outcome for the client through the use of alternative dispute resolution and has been involved in a round table meeting conducted remotely during COVID-19 for the parties and their representatives on a high-net-worth case. She has also prepared for and attended a private Financial Dispute Resolution hearing taking place at their Manchester office and reaching settlement for the client.

Abi is dedicated to achieving the best outcome for clients and maintains attention to detail throughout every case.

Outside of her career, Abi enjoys running as part of a local club and participates in charity events, most recently a duathlon and the Manchester half marathon.

Olivia Chatfield
Olivia ChatfieldTrainee Solicitor | Northwest
Olivia is a trainee solicitor at Lowry Legal with already considerable experience across matrimonial finances and modern family law. She assists in a range of client matters from start to finish.

Prior to joining Lowry Legal, Olivia was a legal assistant and trainee solicitor in Miles & Partners’ matrimonial team, where she developed particular expertise in pre- and post-nuptial agreements as relating to financial remedies and surrogacy. A diligent and empathetic practitioner, Olivia is invaluable to her clients.

Olivia graduated from City University with a Graduate Diploma in Law and completed her LPC with Distinction at BPP Law School.

Before entering the law, Olivia graduated with a BA in Youth Work & Community Learning & Development and spent time as a youth worker in the charity sector, helping young people one-on-one in Clapham. She previously volunteered at youth centres in marginalised communities, as well as at the BPP Legal Advice clinic offering family law advice to clients.
